Luxury Diamond Quilted 100% Leather Gilet Vest Waistcoat
Diamond quilting is stitching in a diamond grid through the leather and a light padded layer behind it. On a gilet that does two things: it holds the padding in place so it cannot shift or bunch, and it gives the surface a defined pattern that catches light differently across each panel. This one is 100% real leather, cut sleeveless as a gilet to layer under a coat or over a knit.
- Material: 100% real leather with quilted padded lining
- Fit: Regular gilet fit
- Closure: Front zip
- Color: Black
- Care: Dry cloth only, never machine wash, hang do not fold
What quilting does on leather
Quilting is a functional technique before it is a decorative one. Padding behind a shell will migrate and clump unless it is held in place, and quilting stitches through both layers on a grid so each pocket of padding stays where it was put. That is why every insulated garment worth owning is quilted somewhere.
Doing it on leather is more work than on fabric, because every stitch line is permanent and the grid has to run true — a diamond pattern that drifts even slightly is obvious across a panel. It also means the stitching itself becomes the design.
Why a gilet
Sleeveless is a deliberate choice rather than a compromise. A gilet keeps your core warm while leaving your arms free, which is what makes it wearable indoors, under a coat, and over a jumper without adding bulk at the shoulder.
It also layers in ways a jacket cannot — under a longer coat in deep winter, over a knit in autumn, or on its own with long sleeves underneath on a mild day.
Build
100% real leather shell. The padding is light rather than heavy, so the gilet insulates without becoming bulky — a thick padded leather gilet ends up stiff and shapeless. The front zip is metal tooth with a backed tape so it does not pull on the quilted panels.
Armholes are bound and the neckline is finished flat, so it sits cleanly under a coat collar.
Fit and styling
Regular gilet fit. Take your normal size to wear over a shirt or fine knit, and size up if a thick jumper is going underneath. Quilted panels have slightly less give than plain leather, so do not size down.
Over a knit with jeans and boots is the easiest way to wear it. Under a wool coat it adds warmth without visible bulk. See the rest of our Women Leather Vests, or our Women Leather Jackets for sleeves.
Sizes and made to order
Each gilet is cut after you order. Standard sizes are XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL and 5XL, plus Custom — send chest, waist and back length after checkout at no extra charge. Quilting adds production time over a plain vest. Free worldwide shipping and secure checkout are included.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this really 100% leather?
The shell is 100% real leather. The padding and lining behind it are textile, as they are on any quilted garment.
What does the quilting actually do?
It stitches through the shell and padding on a grid so the padding cannot shift or clump, and it gives the surface its pattern.
How warm is it?
Warm through the core, with light rather than heavy padding so it stays wearable indoors and under a coat.
Can I wear it under a coat?
Yes. The neckline is finished flat and the padding is light, so it layers without bulk at the shoulder.
What size should I order?
Your normal size over a shirt or fine knit, one size up for a thick jumper. Do not size down, as quilted panels have less give.
How long until it arrives?
It is made to order and quilting adds time. Free shipping is included and tracking is emailed on dispatch.
How do I care for it?
Dry cloth only. Never machine wash or dry clean a quilted leather garment, and hang it rather than folding it.
