Womens Brown New Motorcycle Biker Soft Leather Vest Waistcoat
Brown changes a biker vest more than you would expect. In black a leather vest reads as riding gear whatever you wear it with; in brown it reads as a waistcoat that happens to be leather. Combined with a soft hide that drapes rather than standing away from the body, this is the version that works with an ordinary wardrobe rather than only with jeans and boots.
- Material: Soft real leather
- Fit: Shaped womens fit
- Closure: Front fastening
- Color: Brown
- Care: Dry cloth, condition twice a year, dry naturally away from heat
How brown ages
Brown leather changes visibly with wear where black does not. The front edges, the shoulders and the area around the pockets lighten first as they take handling, and the overall tone deepens. Within a couple of years the vest has a depth of colour it did not arrive with.
That is the argument for brown. The argument against is that it shows its history, and if you want something that looks the same in five years, black is the better choice — there are black versions in our Women Leather Vests range.
Soft leather
A soft hide follows the body instead of holding a rigid outline. It is lighter to wear, comfortable from the first day with no break-in period, and it layers under a coat without adding bulk at the shoulder.
The honest trade-off is durability: soft leather marks more easily than heavy cowhide and is not the hide for a large stitched back patch or constant seat-back abrasion. It is for wearing rather than for working.
Cut for women
Drafted as a women's pattern rather than a men's vest in smaller sizes. Shaped side seams, higher armholes so the vest stays on the shoulder, and a body ending at the hip. On soft leather those details matter more, because a soft hide cut on a straight pattern simply hangs.
Seams are stitched close with fine thread matched to the weight of the hide — heavy stitching puckers soft leather. Armholes are bound and there is an interior pocket.
Fit and styling
Take your normal size over a top or fine knit. The leather has natural give, so most people do not need to size up, but go up one for a thicker layer underneath.
Brown works with cream, camel, denim and grey far more easily than black does. Over a shirt with trousers it reads smart; over a knit with jeans it reads casual. See our Women Leather Jackets for sleeves, or Women Leather Shirts to wear underneath.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the leather real?
Yes, real leather chosen soft so the vest drapes and needs no breaking in.
Will the brown colour change?
Yes. Edges and shoulders lighten with handling while the overall tone deepens. That is normal and intended on brown leather.
Can I sew patches onto it?
Small patches are fine. For a large stitched back patch, choose a firmer cowhide vest instead.
Is this a women's pattern?
Yes — shaped side seams, higher armholes and a shorter body, not a men's vest sized down.
What size should I order?
Your normal size over a top or fine knit; one size up for a thicker layer. Custom sizing is free.
Does it need breaking in?
No. Soft leather is comfortable from the first wear.
How do I care for it?
Wipe with a dry cloth, dry naturally away from heat, condition twice a year. Never machine wash or dry clean.
Size & fit

Use a flexible measuring tape. Keep measurements in one unit: centimetres or inches (1 inch = 2.54 cm). Enter the unit selected in the custom-size form.
