Overview & specifications
Women Coffee Brown Shearling Leather Jacket
Coffee brown is the darkest of our brown shearlings — a deep, slightly red-toned brown that sits between mid brown and near-black. It is the shade to choose if standard tan or mid brown feels too light and black feels too severe. Real sheepskin throughout with the natural wool left on the inside, so the pale fleece contrasts sharply against the dark hide at the collar and cuffs.
- Material: Real sheepskin with natural shearling wool lining
- Fit: Regular womens fit
- Closure: Front fastening with shearling collar
- Color: Coffee brown with natural wool
- Care: Dry cloth on the leather, brush the wool, never wash
The coffee tone
Dark brown on sheepskin behaves differently from dark brown on smooth leather. Sheepskin has a slightly open surface, so the dye sinks in unevenly and the colour comes out with variation rather than as a flat block — deeper in the grain, lighter across the raised areas. On a coffee tone that variation is what stops the jacket reading as simply dark.
The contrast with the cream wool is stronger than on a mid brown, which is the main visual reason to choose this shade. At the collar, cuffs and front edge the pale fleece stands out clearly.
Sheepskin construction
One skin, two functions: the hide side stops wind entirely, the wool side traps warm air against you. No separate lining to shift and no synthetic wadding to compress and lose loft over the years, which is why sheepskin stays as warm in year ten as when new.
The wool is left at full depth because depth is what insulates. Cuffs and hem are finished in sheepskin so there is no cold gap at the wrist or waist.
Fit
Cut for a woman's frame — narrower shoulders and a body ending at the hip. The collar is shearling rather than plain leather, so it is warm against the neck and turns up in wind.
Take your normal size; room for a jumper underneath is already in the pattern, so avoid sizing up unless you want it loose.
Weight and styling
Full sheepskin is heavy, several times the weight of a plain leather jacket. There is no light version of the material.
Coffee brown is more versatile than a light tan because it works with black as well as with cream, camel and denim — a light brown fights black, this does not. Boots suit it. See our Shearling Leather Jackets, our Women B3 Leather Jackets, or Women Leather Jackets for lighter options.

Frequently Asked Questions
How dark is coffee brown?
Deep and slightly red-toned — darker than mid brown, but clearly brown rather than black.
Is the wool real sheepskin?
Yes, the natural fleece of the same hide, not an added fur lining.
Is tonal variation in the colour normal?
Yes. Sheepskin takes dye unevenly by nature, which is what gives a dark brown its depth rather than a flat block of colour.
Does it go with black?
Better than a light tan does. Coffee brown sits comfortably next to black as well as cream, camel and denim.
Is it heavy?
Yes, as all full sheepskin is. The weight and the warmth come from the same place.
What size should I order?
Your normal size. Room for a jumper is already built into the pattern.
How do I care for it?
Dry cloth on the leather, soft brush on the wool. Never machine wash, dry clean or soak sheepskin.
Size & fit
Measure your chest or bust at the fullest point, natural waist, shoulder width and sleeve length. Allow for the clothing you plan to wear underneath when discussing fit.
Use a flexible measuring tape. Keep measurements in one unit: centimetres or inches (1 inch = 2.54 cm). Enter the unit selected in the custom-size form.
How to take body measurements
Ask another person to help. Keep the tape level and comfortably snug. Record your body measurements without adding extra room.
- 5 — Chest / bust: around the fullest part, under the arms.
- 6 — Waist: around the natural waistline.
- 7 — Hips: around the fullest part.
- 15 — Sleeve: from shoulder to wrist with the elbow slightly bent.
- 19 — Inseam: from crotch to ankle.
