Overview & specifications
Women Casual Brown Shearling Leather Jacket
Most shearling jackets are cut on aviator patterns, which means a short body, a heavy collar and a fair amount of drama. This one is not. It is a casual cut — relaxed through the body, softer in the shoulders, with a collar sized for comfort rather than effect. It is the shearling jacket to buy if you want the warmth for everyday wear rather than as a statement piece.
- Material: Real sheepskin with natural shearling wool lining
- Fit: Relaxed casual fit
- Closure: Front fastening
- Color: Brown with natural wool
- Care: Dry cloth on the leather, brush the wool, never wash
A casual cut
The difference from an aviator pattern is in three places. The shoulders are softer, without the squared structure a flight jacket has. The body is cut with more room, so it goes over a jumper without effort. And the collar is moderate rather than deep, so the jacket does not dominate whatever you wear it with.
The result is a shearling jacket you reach for on an ordinary cold morning rather than one you put on deliberately. That is a different thing from a B3, and worth choosing on purpose.
Real sheepskin
The hide side blocks wind; the wool side traps warm air. Because they are the same skin there is no lining to shift and no wadding to compress, which is why a sheepskin jacket does not lose warmth over the years the way a padded one does.
The wool is left at full depth. Cuffs and hem are finished in sheepskin so there is no cold gap at the wrist or waist.
Brown, and wear
Brown sheepskin lightens at the cuffs, edges and collar as it takes handling, and deepens in tone overall. After a couple of winters it has a depth of colour a new jacket does not. That is the reason shearling gets kept for decades rather than replaced.
Weight, fit and styling
Full sheepskin is heavy, and this one is no exception — there is no light version of the material. Most owners find the weight becomes normal within a week.
Take your normal size. The relaxed cut plus the room already built in means you do not need to size up unless you want it noticeably loose. Wear it with jeans, boots and a knit; brown shearling works with cream, camel, grey and denim. See our Shearling Leather Jackets range, our Women B3 Leather Jackets for the aviator cuts, or Women Leather Jackets for lighter jackets.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from a B3 shearling?
Same material, casual cut. Softer shoulders, more room through the body and a moderate collar rather than a deep aviator one.
Is the wool real sheepskin?
Yes, the natural fleece of the same hide.
Is it as warm as an aviator shearling?
The material is identical, so yes. The difference is in the cut, not the warmth.
Is it heavy?
Yes, as all full sheepskin is. There is no lightweight version of the material.
What size should I order?
Your normal size. The cut is already relaxed, so avoid sizing up unless you want it noticeably loose.
Can I wear it in the rain?
Light rain is fine. Wipe it and let it dry naturally, never near a heater.
How do I care for it?
Dry cloth on the leather, soft brush on the wool. Never machine wash, dry clean or soak sheepskin.
Size & fit
Measure your chest or bust at the fullest point, natural waist, shoulder width and sleeve length. Allow for the clothing you plan to wear underneath when discussing fit.
Use a flexible measuring tape. Keep measurements in one unit: centimetres or inches (1 inch = 2.54 cm). Enter the unit selected in the custom-size form.
How to take body measurements
Ask another person to help. Keep the tape level and comfortably snug. Record your body measurements without adding extra room.
- 5 — Chest / bust: around the fullest part, under the arms.
- 6 — Waist: around the natural waistline.
- 7 — Hips: around the fullest part.
- 15 — Sleeve: from shoulder to wrist with the elbow slightly bent.
- 19 — Inseam: from crotch to ankle.
