THE SPORTSTER LEATHER JACKET
The Sportster leather jacket is a focused, well-built biker jacket with the kind of hardware and construction details that make a difference over years of wear. Available in black horsehide or black goatskin, it features a single-piece back panel, a Talon nickel-finish zipper, and a clean two-snap collar — all designed for daily use whether you ride, drive, or walk. - Material: Horsehide or goatskin (both in black)
- Fit: Regular biker cut with a one-piece back panel
- Closure: Talon nickel-finish front zip with a two-snap collar

The Talon zipper — why it matters
Most leather jackets ship with a generic coil zip. The Talon nickel-finish zipper here is a different piece of hardware — heavy gauge, with a solid slider and individual metal teeth rather than a continuous coil. A leather panel is heavy, and a light zip will drag, skip teeth, and fail under that load within a year of regular use. The Talon slider moves cleanly through full hide weight, and if it ever needs attention, a wax of candle wax on the teeth and a few passes while the jacket lies flat will keep it running for years. It will almost certainly outlast everything else on the jacket.
Horsehide or goatskin — what the choice means
Both options are available in black, and the choice is more significant than it first appears. Horsehide is the denser and heavier of the two. It starts noticeably stiff and takes a month or two to break in fully, but once it does it creases into sharp, angular folds rather than soft rolls — the kind of structured character you see on well-worn vintage jackets. It is also considerably more durable than most other hides; a horsehide jacket maintained properly will outlast many cowhide alternatives. Goatskin is lighter and more supple from the first day. It breaks in quickly, has a tighter grain, and does not develop the same angular crease pattern, but it is more comfortable to wear before it has been worn in. If you want the jacket to look better with every year, horsehide is the answer. If you want to be comfortable from day one, goatskin is the practical choice.
One-piece back and pocket layout
Many biker jackets use a cut-and-seam back to reduce hide waste or accommodate a bi-swing panel. The Sportster uses a single leather panel across the entire back — no centre seam, no risk of a seam pulling at the shoulder blades, and a cleaner silhouette. Cutting a full-width back panel requires choosing that panel from the most consistent section of the hide, which is the more demanding and more expensive approach to construction. For the pockets: one zip-closed chest pocket and two zip-closed front pockets give three secured points of storage without cluttering the front. The two-snap collar sits flat in either position and stays flat rather than lifting or folding back in the wind. Custom options include side panels with a zipper and buckle for waist adjustment, and zipper cuffs in place of the standard snap closure — both available when ordering with your measurements.
Sizing and made to order
The Sportster is made to order in sizes XS through 5XL. For the closest fit, measure your chest over a T-shirt and order close — horsehide especially relaxes with wear and does not shrink back, so a jacket that fits correctly at delivery will fit exactly right after a month. Custom sizing takes chest, waist, shoulder, sleeve, and body length. If you want the side panel adjuster or zipper cuffs, note those in the order comments.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between horsehide and goatskin?
Horsehide is denser, heavier, and starts stiffer — it takes longer to break in but develops sharp angular character and is highly durable. Goatskin is lighter, supple from the first wear, and easier to break in.
What makes a Talon zipper different from a standard coil zip?
It uses individual metal teeth and a heavy slider rather than a continuous coil. The solid construction handles the weight of a full leather panel without dragging or skipping.
What is a one-piece back?
A single leather panel covering the full back with no centre seam — stronger, cleaner-looking, and cut from the densest part of the hide.
Can I add the waist adjuster or zipper cuffs?
Yes. Both are available as custom options when ordering with your measurements.
How should the jacket fit at purchase?
Close, measured over a T-shirt. Horsehide especially relaxes with wear and does not shrink back, so snug at delivery means right by winter.
Is the leather genuine?
Yes — real horsehide or real goatskin, your choice.
Is shipping free?
Yes, free worldwide shipping and a secure checkout on every order.
