Stylish Look Purple Leather V Bomber Jacket
Purple on leather goes deep rather than bright. It reads close to aubergine in shadow and clearly purple in daylight, which makes it far more wearable than the word suggests — this is not a violet jacket, it is a dark jacket that happens to be purple. Combined with the V-bomber's fur collar it is one of the more distinctive pieces in the range without tipping into costume.
- Material: Purple leather with a fur collar
- Fit: Regular V-bomber fit
- Closure: Front zip with fur collar
- Color: Deep purple
- Care: Dry cloth, keep out of prolonged sun, brush the fur
How purple behaves on hide
Leather absorbs dye unevenly, which ruins a pale colour and improves a deep one. On purple that unevenness becomes depth: the creases and seams go almost black, the flat panels stay clearly coloured, and the jacket shifts as you move rather than sitting as one block.
That is why deep purple works on leather where it often looks cheap on fabric. It is also why some tonal variation between panels is normal and is a sign the leather is genuinely dyed rather than surface-coated.
Wearing purple
Easier than most people expect, precisely because it is dark. It behaves like a neutral against black, grey, charcoal and cream, and it sits well with black boots and a black bag — which is what stops it looking theatrical.
What to avoid: navy, which fights it, and any second colour in the outfit. One strong colour is the whole point. If you want the same jacket somewhere quieter, the black, navy and brown versions are in our V Bomber Leather Jackets range.
The V collar
Closed, the collar stands high around the neck and seals the throat gap that leather alone leaves open. Opened out, it falls into a wide V across the chest and shoulders, which gives the style its name.
The neckline and shoulder seams are reinforced to carry the collar's weight — without that, a heavy collar drags the jacket backwards off the shoulders, which is the most common failure on fur-collar jackets.
Build and fit
Real leather shell with enough substance to carry the collar and block wind. Metal tooth main zip on a reinforced tape. Double-stitched seams, reinforced at the shoulders. Lined through the body, so it works as a genuine winter jacket.
Regular fit — take your normal size, since room for a jumper is already built into the pattern. See our Men Bomber Leather Jackets or Men Leather Jackets.

Frequently Asked Questions
How purple is it?
Deep — close to aubergine in shadow and clearly purple in daylight. It is a dark jacket rather than a bright one.
Is the leather real?
Yes, real leather dyed purple, not a coated fabric.
Is tonal variation normal?
Yes, and on a deep colour it reads as depth rather than as a fault. It is how you tell dyed hide from a surface coating.
Is purple hard to wear?
Less than you would expect. Because it is dark it behaves like a neutral against black, grey, charcoal and cream.
Can you tell me more about the fur?
Message us before ordering if you need details on the fur type and sourcing and we will confirm before you buy.
Will the colour fade?
Not with normal wear. Long exposure to direct sunlight lightens any strong dye, so store it out of a sunny window.
What size should I order?
Your normal size. Room for a jumper is already built into the pattern. Custom sizing is free.
Size & fit
Measure your chest or bust at the fullest point, natural waist, shoulder width and sleeve length. Allow for the clothing you plan to wear underneath when discussing fit.

How to take body measurements
Ask another person to help. Keep the tape level and comfortably snug. Record your body measurements without adding extra room.

- 6 — Waist: around the natural waistline.
- 7 — Hips: around the fullest part.
- 15 — Sleeve: from shoulder to wrist with the elbow slightly bent.
