Overview & specifications

Studded Biker Leather Jacket

The Studded Biker Leather Jacket is the classic asymmetric biker shape with studs set across the shoulders, lapels, and sleeve panels. It is the shape that has been in continuous production since the 1920s, and the studs are the punk-era addition that arrived fifty years later. Find it in our studded leather jackets selection.

  • Material: Genuine leather
  • Fit: Close biker fit, cropped at the hip
  • Closure: Asymmetric front zip with a snap-down lapel
  • Color: Black with metal studs
  • Care: Wipe dry, condition twice yearly, store on a broad hanger

Why the zip runs off-centre

The asymmetric zip is not a styling choice — it started as a practical one. A rider leaning forward gets a hard fold down the centre of the chest, and a centre zip sits exactly in that fold, digging in. Moving the zip to one side puts it off the fold line and lets the overlapping panel double up as a windbreak. Every classic biker jacket since has kept the detail because it works, and because the diagonal line across the chest became the visual signature of the whole category.

Stud placement and weight

Studs add weight, and weight in the wrong place drags a jacket out of shape. On this jacket the studs are concentrated on the shoulders and lapels — areas supported by the structure of the garment — rather than spread across the lower back, where they would pull the hem down over time. Each stud is set through the leather with a closed back plate. If you plan to add more studs yourself, keep to the upper panels for the same reason.

Breaking it in

A close-fitting biker jacket feels stiff for the first few weeks; that is normal for jacket-weight hide and it is why the fit should be snug rather than roomy when new. The leather will relax at the elbows, across the back, and around the collar within a month of regular wear, and it will not go back. Buy it fitting close over a T-shirt and it will fit correctly over a knit by winter.

Note honestly: this is a fashion jacket, not protective equipment. No armour, no armour pockets, no safety certification, and not sold as riding gear.

Sizing and made to order

Measure your chest over a T-shirt, not over a jumper. Sizes run XS to 5XL with Custom available — send chest, waist, shoulder, sleeve, and body length. Each jacket is made after your order.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the zip off-centre?

It keeps the zip out of the fold that forms when you lean forward, and the overlapping panel blocks wind.

Is the leather real?

Yes, genuine hide throughout.

Will the studs pull the jacket out of shape?

No. They are concentrated on supported panels and set through the leather with closed backs.

Should I size up?

No. Buy it close over a T-shirt — the leather relaxes with wear and will not shrink back.

Is it safe for motorcycling?

No. It has no armour and no safety certification, and is not sold as riding gear.

Can I order custom measurements?

Yes. Choose Custom and send chest, waist, shoulder, sleeve, and body length.

Is shipping free?

Yes, free worldwide shipping and secure checkout.
