Overview & specifications

Santa Claus Leather Coat

This is the long version — a full-length Santa coat rather than a jacket. Length changes the garment considerably, and if you are choosing between the two, this is the section that decides it. It sits in our men fashion leather jackets range.

  • Material: Genuine leather with contrast white trim
  • Fit: Long, generous, cut for padding underneath
  • Closure: Front fastening with a belt
  • Color: Red with white trim
  • Care: Dry cloth, brush the trim, hang on a broad hanger

Coat or jacket?

A jacket is easier to move in, cooler to wear under lights, and better for anything where you are on your feet for hours. A coat looks considerably more imposing, covers padding more completely so the silhouette reads properly from every angle, and photographs better in a full-length shot. If you are working a grotto seated, or being photographed head to toe, the coat is the better choice. If you are on your feet at a busy event all day, the jacket is.

The practical problem with a long coat

Weight. A full-length leather coat over padding is heavy, and all of it hangs from the shoulders — which is why the shoulder seams here are taped, and why it should be hung on a broad wooden or padded hanger rather than a thin one. Over a long day, that weight is the thing people notice; if you are standing for six hours, factor it in.

Working under lights

Leather does not breathe, and a padded Santa coat under photography lights gets warm fast. Two practical tips: wear a thin moisture-wicking base layer rather than cotton underneath, and open the coat between shots rather than keeping it belted all session. Also let the coat air properly afterwards rather than putting it straight into a bag.

Storage between seasons

Hang it in a breathable cotton cover, never plastic, out of a hot loft. Brush the white trim before storing, because dust left in pale trim for eleven months sets. Never fold a long leather coat — the crease across the front will not come out.

Sizing and made to order

Measure over your padding, not over your own chest, and send the length you want from shoulder to hem with the Custom option. Sizes run XS to 5XL plus Custom.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I choose the coat or the jacket?

The coat looks more imposing and photographs better full-length. The jacket is lighter and easier for a long day on your feet.

Is a long leather coat heavy?

Yes, particularly over padding. The shoulder seams are taped for that reason, and it needs a broad hanger.

What should I wear underneath?

A thin moisture-wicking base layer rather than cotton — leather does not breathe and padding under lights gets warm.

What size should I order?

Measure over your padding, not over your own chest.

How should I store it between seasons?

Hanging in a breathable cover, out of a hot loft, with the trim brushed clean. Never folded.

Do you offer custom sizing?

Yes. Choose Custom and send measurements taken over padding, plus the length you want.

Is shipping free?

Yes, free worldwide shipping and secure checkout.

Size & fit

Measure your chest or bust at the fullest point, natural waist, shoulder width and sleeve length. Allow for the clothing you plan to wear underneath when discussing fit.

Use a flexible measuring tape. Keep measurements in one unit: centimetres or inches (1 inch = 2.54 cm). Enter the unit selected in the custom-size form.

  • 6 — Waist: around the natural waistline.
  • 7 — Hips: around the fullest part.
  • 15 — Sleeve: from shoulder to wrist with the elbow slightly bent.
  • 19 — Inseam: from crotch to ankle.
