New Styles Leather Varsity jacket For Men
The New Styles Leather Varsity Jacket For Men updates the letterman proportions for how men dress now. The traditional varsity is cut generously — it was made to go over school kit — and that volume reads oversized with modern clothes. This one keeps the shape and tightens the proportions.
- Material: Real leather with ribbed knit trim
- Fit: Modern regular fit
- Closure: Front snap buttons
- Color: Two-tone leather
- Care: Wipe clean, condition twice a year, hang to store
What has been updated
Three things. The shoulder is brought in so it sits where your shoulder actually is rather than dropping past it. The body is shortened so the rib hem lands at the natural waist rather than below it. And the sleeve is narrowed so the knit cuff finishes at the wrist instead of over the hand.
None of that removes the layering room that makes a varsity jacket useful — a knit still fits underneath. It simply removes the excess that made older patterns look borrowed.
All-leather versus wool-bodied
Traditional varsity jackets use a melton wool body with leather sleeves, because wool was cheap and warm. An all-leather version behaves differently: more wind-resistant, since leather does not breathe like woven wool; firmer in the silhouette, so the shape stays clean; and it ages rather than wears, softening and creasing where it moves.
The ribbed collar, cuffs and hem stay, because they are what make the shape read as varsity rather than as a plain bomber.
Fit, comfort and styling
Take your normal size for a knit underneath, or size down for a close fit over a tee. Rib hem at the waist, sleeve at the wrist bone.
Wear it casually — jeans and trainers, or chinos and boots. Two-tone jackets carry enough visual interest on their own, so keep the rest of the outfit plain and unpatterned.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from a traditional varsity jacket?
Narrower shoulder, shorter body and a slimmer sleeve — modern proportions on the classic shape.
Is it all leather?
Yes, the panels are real leather. Only the collar, cuffs and hem are ribbed knit.
Will a knit fit underneath?
Yes at your normal size. The layering room is kept; only the excess volume is removed.
How does an all-leather varsity compare to a wool-bodied one?
More wind-resistant, firmer in shape, and it ages into character rather than wearing thin.
Can I choose different colours?
Often yes. Message us before ordering and we will confirm.
How do I care for it?
Wipe with a soft dry cloth and condition once or twice a year.
Do you offer custom sizing?
Yes — XS to 5XL plus Custom to your own measurements.
Size & fit
Measure your chest or bust at the fullest point, natural waist, shoulder width and sleeve length. Allow for the clothing you plan to wear underneath when discussing fit.
Use a flexible measuring tape. Keep measurements in one unit: centimetres or inches (1 inch = 2.54 cm). Enter the unit selected in the custom-size form.
How to take body measurements
Ask another person to help. Keep the tape level and comfortably snug. Record your body measurements without adding extra room.
- 5 — Chest / bust: around the fullest part, under the arms.
- 6 — Waist: around the natural waistline.
- 7 — Hips: around the fullest part.
- 15 — Sleeve: from shoulder to wrist with the elbow slightly bent.
- 19 — Inseam: from crotch to ankle.
