New Mens Shearling Black B3 Bomber Hooded Leather Fur Jacket
The New Mens Shearling Black B3 Bomber Hooded Leather Fur Jacket takes the warmest jacket pattern there is and adds the one thing the original did not have: a hood. Aircrew wore flight helmets, so the B3 never needed one. On the ground, a hood is the difference between a jacket that handles wind and one that handles wind and weather.
- Material: Real shearling sheepskin
- Fit: Regular fit, bulky by design
- Closure: Front zip
- Color: Black with natural wool
- Care: Brush the wool, wipe the hide, dry naturally away from heat
Why a hood matters on a shearling jacket
A B3's weak point on the ground is the head. The body is sealed, the collar closes the throat, and then everything above the neck is exposed — which in wind and sleet is where the discomfort comes from. A hood closes that gap without needing a hat that never quite stays on.
It also protects the collar. On a hoodless shearling, driving rain runs off the head straight into the collar wool, which is exactly what shearling handles worst. A hood keeps the water off the part of the jacket that is hardest to dry.
Black shearling
Most B3s are brown, because that is what was issued. Black changes the jacket considerably: it reads modern rather than heritage, and the contrast with cream wool at the openings is much sharper. It also hides winter grime better than tan does.
Underneath the colour it is the same construction — one hide, wool inside, leather out, no separate lining. That is what makes shearling warmer than any layered jacket of the same thickness.
Fit, wear and honest notes
Take your normal size. The pattern already accounts for shearling's bulk, and sizing up produces something unmanageable. The jacket is heavy and substantial on the shoulders — that weight is the insulation.
Honest points. This is a reproduction-style fashion jacket, not military surplus, with no genuine service insignia. And shearling is for cold, dry weather: a hood helps considerably, but this is not a waterproof jacket.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the hood lined with shearling too?
Message us before ordering and we will confirm the hood lining specification for you precisely.
Is the fur real?
It is real sheepskin with the wool left on — shearling — not a separate fur trim.
Is this military surplus?
No. It is a reproduction-style fashion jacket with no service insignia or issue history.
Is it waterproof?
No. A hood helps in light rain, but shearling is a cold-and-dry material.
Should I size up?
No. The pattern already allows for the thickness of the shearling.
How do I dry it if it gets wet?
Naturally, away from any heat source, then brush the wool. Never on a radiator.
Do you offer custom sizing?
Yes — XS to 5XL plus Custom to your own measurements.
Size & fit

How to take body measurements
Ask another person to help. Keep the tape level and comfortably snug. Record your body measurements without adding extra room.

- 7 — Hips: around the fullest part.
- 15 — Sleeve: from shoulder to wrist with the elbow slightly bent.
- 19 — Inseam: from crotch to ankle.
