Overview & specifications
Ladies New Motorcycle Biker Soft Leather Vest Waistcoat
Most biker vests use a firm hide because they are built to take abrasion and carry patches. This one uses a soft leather instead, and the difference is immediate: it weighs less, it moves with you rather than standing away from the body, and there is no break-in period. It is the biker vest to choose if you want the look without the stiffness of a heavy cowhide waistcoat.
- Material: Soft real leather
- Fit: Shaped womens fit
- Closure: Front fastening
- Color: Black
- Care: Dry cloth, condition twice a year, dry naturally away from heat
Soft leather, and the honest trade-off
A soft hide drapes rather than standing. On a vest that means it follows the shape of your body instead of holding a rigid outline, which is far more comfortable and considerably more flattering on a shaped women's pattern.
The trade-off is durability. Soft leather marks more easily than a heavy cowhide and it is not the hide to choose if the vest is going to carry a large stitched back patch or take constant abrasion from a seat back. For that, our firmer cowhide vests in the Women Leather Vests range are the right choice. This one is for wearing.
Cut for women
A women's pattern rather than a men's vest in smaller sizes. The side seams are shaped, the armholes are set higher so the vest stays on the shoulder instead of sliding back, and the body ends at the hip. On a soft leather those details matter more, not less — a soft hide cut on a straight pattern simply hangs.
Build
Seams are stitched close with fine thread suited to the weight of the leather. Heavy stitching on a soft hide puckers, which is why the thread and stitch length are matched to the material rather than used as standard.
Armholes are bound rather than left raw, the neckline is finished flat, and there is an interior pocket.
Fit and styling
Shaped fit. Take your normal size over a top or fine knit. Because the leather has natural give, most people do not need to size up, but go up one if a thicker layer is going underneath.
Because it is light and soft, it layers in ways a stiff vest cannot — under a coat, over a long-sleeved top, or over a leather shirt from our Women Leather Shirts. Jeans, boots and a plain top is the default. See our Women Leather Jackets for sleeved options.
Sizes and made to order
Each vest is cut after you order. Standard sizes are XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL and 5XL, plus Custom — send chest, waist and back length after checkout at no extra charge. Free worldwide shipping and secure checkout are included.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the leather real?
Yes, real leather chosen soft rather than firm, so the vest drapes and needs no breaking in.
How is it different from a cowhide biker vest?
It is lighter, softer and more comfortable immediately, but less abrasion resistant and not the right choice for heavy patch work.
Can I sew patches onto it?
Small patches are fine. For a large stitched back patch, choose one of our firmer cowhide vests instead.
Is this a women's pattern?
Yes — shaped side seams, higher armholes and a shorter body, not a men's vest sized down.
What size should I order?
Your normal size over a top or fine knit. Size up if a thicker layer goes underneath. Custom sizing is free.
Does it need breaking in?
No. Soft leather is comfortable from the first wear.
How do I care for it?
Wipe with a dry cloth, dry naturally away from heat, condition twice a year. Never machine wash or dry clean.
