Overview & specifications

High-rise leather straight pants

These high-rise leather straight pants are the tailored end of leather trousers — cut like a pair of proper trousers rather than like leggings. The waist sits high on the natural waistline, the leg falls straight from the hip with no taper, and the whole thing hangs from the waistband instead of clinging. If skinny leather trousers have never suited you, a straight leg on a high rise usually does, because it puts the shape in the cut rather than on your body.

  • Material: Real leather
  • Fit: High rise with a straight leg
  • Closure: Zip fly with waistband fastening
  • Color: Black
  • Care: Dry cloth only, hang by the waistband, condition twice a year

Why the high rise matters

A high waist does two things on leather trousers. It lengthens the leg line, which a straight cut needs in order to look intentional rather than shapeless. And it moves the waistband to the narrowest part of your torso, where a rigid material like leather is far more comfortable than it is sitting on the hip.

It also means the trousers work tucked — a shirt or knit tucked into a high waistband is the standard way to wear this shape, and it is not a look a low-rise leather trouser can do.

Straight leg construction

The leg is cut with the same width from knee to hem, with no taper. That requires the leather to hang cleanly, so the hide is chosen with enough weight to fall straight rather than flutter, and the side seams are stitched flat so nothing pulls the line off vertical.

The waistband is a separate faced piece with a zip fly, built like a tailored trouser waistband rather than a folded-over edge. Belt loops are set through reinforced points.

Fit and styling

Take your normal trouser size. Leather has little give, so go up rather than down if you are between sizes, or take Custom. The straight leg is designed to break over a shoe rather than end above it, so hem length matters — tell us your inside leg if you are outside the standard range.

Tuck a fine knit or a shirt in and add a belt. With heeled boots it reads smart; with loafers or trainers it reads relaxed. It is the most office-appropriate leather trouser we make. Pair it with a shirt from our Women Leather Shirts, or see the rest of our Women Leather Pants for other cuts.

Made to order sizing

Each pair is cut after you order, in the size you choose. Standard sizes are XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL and 5XL, plus Custom. Hem length is the detail worth getting right on a straight leg, so send waist, hip and inside leg after checkout if you take Custom. Free worldwide shipping and secure checkout are included.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these real leather?

Yes. They are real leather, chosen with enough weight to hang straight.

Where does the waist sit?

On the natural waistline, above the hip bone. That is what gives the leg its length and makes the trousers comfortable to wear.

Can I wear a belt?

Yes, there are belt loops set through reinforced points.

What size should I order?

Your normal trouser size, sizing up rather than down if you are between. Custom sizing is available.

Will they bag at the knee?

Leather relaxes slightly at the knee with wear and recovers when hung. Hang them by the waistband rather than folding.

How long until they arrive?

They are made to order, so allow around two weeks including free shipping. Tracking is emailed on dispatch.

How do I care for them?

Wipe with a dry cloth, hang by the waistband, and condition twice a year. Never machine wash or dry clean.

Size & fit

Measure your natural waist, the fullest part of your hips and the inside leg from crotch to ankle. For chaps, also measure your thigh over the trousers you plan to wear.

Use a flexible measuring tape. Keep measurements in one unit: centimetres or inches (1 inch = 2.54 cm). Enter the unit selected in the custom-size form.

Ask another person to help. Keep the tape level and comfortably snug. Record your body measurements without adding extra room.

  • 5 — Chest / bust: around the fullest part, under the arms.
  • 6 — Waist: around the natural waistline.
  • 7 — Hips: around the fullest part.
  • 15 — Sleeve: from shoulder to wrist with the elbow slightly bent.
  • 19 — Inseam: from crotch to ankle.
