Overview & specifications

Burgundy Womens Phoenix Leather Pants

Burgundy is the colour to choose when black feels too safe and red feels too much. It is a deep wine tone that reads almost black in low light and clearly burgundy in daylight, which makes it far more wearable than a bright colour while still being a decision rather than a default. On leather the tone has real depth, going darker in the creases and brighter across the flat panels.

  • Material: Real leather
  • Fit: Slim fit
  • Closure: Zip fly with belt loops
  • Color: Burgundy
  • Care: Dry cloth, keep out of prolonged sun, hang by the waistband

Burgundy on leather

Deep colours behave better on hide than bright ones. Leather takes dye unevenly by nature, so a bright red comes out patchy unless the hide is exceptional; a deep burgundy absorbs that variation and turns it into depth. The tone shifts with the light — near black indoors, unmistakably wine in daylight — which is why the trousers look different depending on where you wear them.

The honest note on any strong dye: prolonged direct sunlight will lighten it over years. Hang them out of a sunny window and the colour holds.

Why burgundy is easier to wear than it sounds

Because it is dark, it behaves like a neutral in most outfits. It works with black, grey, cream, camel and denim without any thought, which a bright colour does not. It is also the one coloured leather trouser that reads as smart rather than as costume, so it goes further than you would expect.

Keep the top half plain and let the colour do the work. For black and tan versions of the same cut, see our Women Leather Pants.

Build

Faced waistband with a zip fly and belt loops set through reinforced points. Pocket bags backed and stitched flat. Seams double stitched. On a coloured trouser the seams are more visible than on black, so the stitch lines are run straight — there is nowhere to hide a wandering seam on burgundy.

Fit and styling

Slim fit. Take your normal size and go up rather than down if you are between sizes, since leather does not stretch. Custom is free — send waist, hip, thigh and inside leg.

Black boots and a black or cream knit is the simplest pairing. Camel and grey both work well against burgundy. Add a jacket from our Women Leather Jackets in black rather than another colour. Tops are in our Women Leather Shirts.

Sizes and made to order

Each pair is cut after you order. Standard sizes are XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL and 5XL, plus Custom at no extra charge. Free worldwide shipping and secure checkout are included.

Frequently Asked Questions

How dark is the burgundy?

Deep — close to black under indoor light and clearly wine-toned in daylight.

Are these real leather?

Yes, real leather dyed burgundy, not a coated fabric.

Is tonal variation normal?

Yes. Leather takes dye unevenly by nature, and on a deep colour that variation reads as depth rather than as a fault.

Will the colour fade?

Not with normal wear. Long exposure to direct sun lightens any strong dye, so store them out of a sunny window.

Is burgundy hard to style?

Less than you would expect. Because it is dark it behaves like a neutral against black, grey, cream, camel and denim.

What size should I order?

Your normal size, sizing up rather than down if you are between. Custom sizing is free.

How do I care for them?

Dry cloth, hang by the waistband, condition twice a year. Never machine wash or dry clean.

Size & fit

Measure your natural waist, the fullest part of your hips and the inside leg from crotch to ankle. For chaps, also measure your thigh over the trousers you plan to wear.

Use a flexible measuring tape. Keep measurements in one unit: centimetres or inches (1 inch = 2.54 cm). Enter the unit selected in the custom-size form.
