Overview & specifications
Brown Mens Leather V Bomber Jacket
Brown is the original colour for this kind of jacket and it remains the one that ages best. Black stays as it arrives for years; brown records what you do in it. The cuffs, front edges, elbows and the area around the collar lighten first, and within a couple of winters the jacket has a depth of tone that a new one simply does not.
- Material: Brown leather with a fur collar
- Fit: Regular V-bomber fit
- Closure: Front zip with fur collar
- Color: Brown
- Care: Dry cloth, condition twice a year, brush the fur
How brown leather ages
The wear pattern follows what you actually do. Elbows from bending, cuffs from sleeves, the front edges from opening and closing the zip, the shoulders from a bag strap. Two people who buy the same jacket end up with visibly different ones after three years.
That is the appeal, and it is worth understanding before ordering, because it cannot be undone. If you want a jacket that looks identical in year five, the black and navy versions are in our V Bomber Leather Jackets range.
Conditioning twice a year with a neutral conditioner slows the drying that causes cracking, without stopping the colour developing. Avoid coloured polishes, which patch a natural brown finish.
Brown with fur
Brown leather and a natural fur collar sit closer in tone than black and fur do, so the jacket reads warm and traditional rather than high-contrast. It is the combination that looks least like a fashion piece and most like a jacket someone would have owned for decades.
It is also the easiest of the coloured shells to wear: brown goes with blue denim far better than black leather does, and pairs naturally with cream, camel, olive and grey.
The V collar
Closed, the collar stands high around the neck and seals the throat gap that leather alone leaves open — the one route wind still takes once the body is covered. Opened out, it falls into a broad V across the chest and shoulders.
The neckline and shoulder seams are reinforced to carry its weight, which is what stops a heavy collar dragging the jacket backwards off the shoulders over time.
Build and fit
Real leather with enough substance to carry the collar and block wind. Metal tooth main zip on a reinforced tape. Double-stitched seams, reinforced at the shoulders. Lined through the body, so it works as a genuine winter jacket rather than a three-season one.
Regular fit — take your normal size, since room for a jumper is already built into the pattern. See our Men Bomber Leather Jackets or Men Leather Jackets for plainer shapes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the colour rub off?
No. It is a dyed and finished hide, not a surface coating. It lightens naturally at the wear points, which is the intended look.
How quickly does it age?
Noticeably within the first year at the elbows, cuffs and front edges, then more gradually.
Can I stop it ageing?
Not really, and that is the point of brown. Choose the black or navy version if you want a jacket that stays as it arrives.
Is the leather real?
Yes, real leather with enough substance to carry the collar.
Can you tell me more about the fur?
Message us before ordering if you need details on the fur type and sourcing and we will confirm before you buy.
What does brown go with?
Blue denim especially, plus cream, camel, olive and grey.
How do I care for it?
Dry cloth on the leather, a neutral conditioner twice a year, and a soft brush on the fur. Avoid coloured polishes, which patch the finish.
Size & fit
Measure your chest or bust at the fullest point, natural waist, shoulder width and sleeve length. Allow for the clothing you plan to wear underneath when discussing fit.
Use a flexible measuring tape. Keep measurements in one unit: centimetres or inches (1 inch = 2.54 cm). Enter the unit selected in the custom-size form.
How to take body measurements
Ask another person to help. Keep the tape level and comfortably snug. Record your body measurements without adding extra room.
- 5 — Chest / bust: around the fullest part, under the arms.
- 6 — Waist: around the natural waistline.
- 7 — Hips: around the fullest part.
- 15 — Sleeve: from shoulder to wrist with the elbow slightly bent.
- 19 — Inseam: from crotch to ankle.
