Overview & specifications
600D Fabric Brighton Motorcycle Textile Jacket
The Brighton is built from 600D fabric — the workhorse weight of motorcycle textiles. The D stands for denier, a measure of yarn thickness, and 600D sits at the point where the fabric is tough enough to take a slide and light enough to wear every day without feeling like armour. It is the specification most commuter and all-round riding jackets use, for good reason. This one adds mesh vents, armour pockets and reinforced panels at the impact zones.
- Material: 600D technical textile with mesh vent panels
- Fit: Riding fit with waist and cuff adjusters
- Closure: Full front zip with storm flap
- Color: Black
- Care: Sponge clean, air dry, do not machine wash
What 600D means
Denier measures how heavy the yarn is before it is woven. Lower deniers make lighter, cooler fabrics that wear through faster; higher deniers make tougher fabrics that are heavier and stiffer. 600D is the middle ground — substantially more abrasion resistant than a light 300D shell, and far less rigid than the 1000D fabrics used on heavy adventure jackets.
For commuting and general road riding it is the sensible specification. It is also easier to clean and quicker to dry than leather, which matters if the jacket lives on a bike rather than in a wardrobe.
Vents, protection and fit
Mesh vent panels are set into the chest and back for airflow. Reinforced double-layer panels cover the shoulders and elbows, and armour pockets sit at the shoulders, elbows and back for standard CE inserts — we confirm on your order whether armour is supplied.
The cut is a standard riding fit: pre-curved sleeves, longer back hem, helmet-clearing collar, and adjusters at the waist and cuffs so the jacket does not flap at speed.
Pockets and daily use
Zipped hand pockets with backed zips, a chest pocket and an interior document pocket. The shell is easy to sponge clean, which is the practical advantage of textile over leather for a jacket that gets used daily in traffic.
Sizes and made to order
Every jacket is built after you order, in your chosen size. Standard sizes are XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL and 5XL, plus Custom. Take your normal size — the jacket should sit close enough to hold armour over the joint. For Custom, send chest, waist, sleeve and back length after checkout. Free worldwide shipping and secure checkout are included.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does 600D mean?
Denier is a measure of yarn thickness. 600D is the mid-weight standard for motorcycle textiles — tougher than light 300D shells, lighter and more flexible than heavy 1000D fabrics.
Is it waterproof?
It blocks wind and sheds light rain, but the mesh vents mean it is not a sealed waterproof shell.
Does it include armour?
It has armour pockets at the shoulders, elbows and back that take standard CE inserts. Message us to confirm whether inserts are supplied.
Is textile better than leather for commuting?
For daily use in traffic it is easier to clean, quicker to dry and cooler in summer. Leather remains more abrasion resistant overall.
What size should I order?
Your normal size. It should fit close enough that armour stays over the joint. Custom sizing is available.
How long until it arrives?
It is made to order. Allow around two weeks including free shipping; tracking is emailed on dispatch.
How do I clean it?
Sponge with mild soap and water and air dry away from direct heat. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
Size & fit
Measure your chest or bust at the fullest point, natural waist, shoulder width and sleeve length. Allow for the clothing you plan to wear underneath when discussing fit.
Use a flexible measuring tape. Keep measurements in one unit: centimetres or inches (1 inch = 2.54 cm). Enter the unit selected in the custom-size form.
How to take body measurements
Ask another person to help. Keep the tape level and comfortably snug. Record your body measurements without adding extra room.
- 5 — Chest / bust: around the fullest part, under the arms.
- 6 — Waist: around the natural waistline.
- 7 — Hips: around the fullest part.
- 15 — Sleeve: from shoulder to wrist with the elbow slightly bent.
- 19 — Inseam: from crotch to ankle.
